I actually don’t know when the real start of spring is, if anyone can let me know that would be awesome.

So what is new with you all- SOUND OFF!!

(now visualize a tumbleweed going by)

For us, EVERYTHING!!!!!

First off, we helped Disney launch a new website dedicated to Disney Studio Art, perfect for the Disney enthusiast.

We also released some AWESOME new pieces from Star Wars.

We started out with an new piece from famed artist Tsuneo Sanda

Exclusive to Star Wars Shop

“Elegant Amidala”

(shipping soon!)

….. we then followed up this beautiful piece with a companion piece also from Tsuneo Sanda

“Lovely Leia”

I really like these pieces, I think Sanda has such an amazing talent at capturing likeness- and in truly a unique way.

We also released two new pieces from Bill Silvers that I think trumps his first two, both available on paper and canvas.  (Btw congrats to Bill on the sale of his Hunter Prevails Original, it’s always awesome when Artists get their work sold)

“Anticipation of Hope”

“Hunter Prevails”

I am pretty sure I got tendonitis in one of my elbows, which has inhibited me from riding my bicycle, that makes me a bit annoyed.

let’s see what else…..

Oh, my friend and co-worker Morly just got an English Bulldog named Frankie.  He is so gosh darn cute.  Maybe he will post a pic if you all bug him enough.

My final little tidbit, we will be releasing a new Christian Waggoner piece this month.  For those of you subscribers to our newsletter, we sent out just a taste- if you aren’t subscribed, well I suggest you go do it.

Christian is definitely one of my favorite Star Wars artists, I just love his skill and his unique approach.  Congratulations to him as well on the sale of this new original, that makes him 3/3.  Way to be batting a 1,000.

Signing off,

Your humble blogger

Howdy Partners…

It’s Acme’s favorite Blogger here, about to lay down some truth for all you followers out there…

…and by that I mean here is what is going on.

So first and foremost, Happy New Year if I haven’t already said it.  I know it’s late, but hey better safe than sorry (or is that supposed to be late than never).

Let’s see now, what is going on with ACME…

Well, we have a new Star Wars artist this year that we are very excited about named William Silvers.

Bill was a concept artist and matte painter on Revenge of the Sith as well as other films such as Pirates of the Caribbean.  His new collection of interpretive Star Wars pieces draws upon his eclectic skill and beautiful landscapes. We currently have two pieces up on the site and will be releasing two more come end of the month.  Here are his current installments entitled Imperial Forest (left) and Evil in the Storm (right).

Click here to go to the Star Wars section on our site to learn more about the pieces.

We are also very proud to announce that we will be the exclusive publisher of the renowned Star Wars artist: Tsuneo Sanda.  I am sure many of you are familiar with his work, and we can’t wait to begin putting out his pieces, which should begin in March.

Also in March, for those fans of the art of Sam Fout, we will have a new piece from Sam, so keep your eyes out.

And my last little bit of Star Wars news, a new piece from favorite artist Christian Waggoner is just around the corner.  SO PUMP YOURSELF UP!!

We have some pretty dang cool art coming out from …

HALO WARS

Ok that wasn’t that dramatic, but I got a sneak preview of the game and it is very much fun, and the art is fantastic.  I can’t leak pictures, but I will soon.

Ok I guess that’s all I have for right now.

Peace, Love, and Understanding

Man it’s chilly here in Southern California, which means it’s freezing everywhere else- sorry about that guys.

So this is my holiday post, it may or may not be exciting, only time will tell.

This has been a great 2008 for Acme, thank you all very much for your support of what we do- put out cool art.  We very much hope to keep the trend going in 2009, we have a lot of really great pieces in the works across all of our licenses.

There will be some great new paintings by Christian Waggoner ( I believe some sort of storm trooper is in the works) as well as Brian Rood, Randy Martinez, and several new fantastic artists that we are now working with.

The Darth Vader character key turned out really great, and we are constantly working on new characters for the ‘09 year.  On top of all that, we are working on several other smaller 2D collectible lines (for those of you who remember our Star Wars Revealed prototype at the past two Comic Cons, don’t worry the line isn’t dead).

This was also a great year for Disney, Wall E was fantastic and it seems that Pixar just can not do wrong.  Let’s hope they keep that up for 2009.  As far as classic Disney goes, we are putting out FANTASTIC hand painteds almost every couple months.  Man they are gorgeous, each one is painted by the classic Disney Ink and Paint department- so you know you are getting something special.

Also, in case you haven’t seen yet, we have released our second Family Guy Artist Series with all new pieces from great young artists such as Lola and Joe Vaux.  The first 25 pieces of each edition are signed by the artists and they will be available to ship starting in January.

I hope everybody caught wind of our 25% off one day sale, we hardly EVER do anything like this so we hope you enjoyed it.  And for those of you who didn’t pay attention next time… OK I’m just kidding, but definitely keep your ear to the ground because it might be something we do again next year.

We here at Acme wish everybody a happy holidays.  I’m going to go back to work now, this has been fun.  If I think of anything else before I leave I will make sure and post again.

Your humble blogger,

James
