Well I guess technically there are still 5 more full days until Preview Night, but being that we are shipping out on Monday.  This will be my last post until after the Con.

Soooo, some informative things….

Our Booth number is #5429, and we are located in the same place as always, in back and straight on till morning.

We will not be selling (or giving you your pre-ordered) Yoda CKs untill Saturday.  I know, I know, it stinks- but don’t blame us.  Blame the fat cats up at Lucasfilm, we are not allowed to sell or distribute any new Clone Wars products until the 26th.  But don’t worry, anyone who pre-ordered their key will get it one way or another.  And those of you who didn’t and are planning on picking it up at the show, we will take care of you too (so as long as we don’t sell out).

Now some fun news:

As I mentioned before (in some other post that I can’t remember), we will be doing 2 giveaways this year:

The first is for an incredibly framed Halo “Boarding” Giclee on Canvas.  This piece is also the very first piece in the edition- that’s right #1.  Anybody who purchases a Halo product from us will receive 1 raffle ticket per item purchased, at the end of the show we will select one number at random, and bam you are the winner.  Don’t worry if you won’t be there Sunday, we will post the winning number on our site and ship it out to you if you happen to have the ticket- JUST DON’T LOSE THE TICKET, we will need you to give it to us or send it in.

The second is also equally as cool.  We will be giving away the COMPLETE SET of our first CLONE WARS CHARACTER KEY LINE!! That’s right all 16 keys, everyone from Yoda to Roron.  Anybody who purchases any character key (does not need to be Star Wars, and does include the exclusive) at the show will receive one raffle ticket for every key purchased.  And once again at the end of the show we will select one number at random, and bam you are the winner.  And also once again don’t worry if you won’t be there Sunday, we will post the winning number on our site and ship it out to you.

Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy , American Dad) will be signing at our booth on Friday.

Matt Groening (creator of Futurama, The Simpsons) will be signing at our booth on Saturday.

Artists Eric Tan (If Adventure has a Name…, Wall E prints, Ratatouille, Incredibles) , Sam Fout (Mos Eisley Wise Guys, The Don, Vaders Angeles, Dark Lord Rising), and Peter Ferk (Original Trilogy Character Keys, Indiana Jones Character Keys)  will also be signing at our booth over the course of the show.

Sorry I don’t have times and dates for you now, but we will have a banner up at our booth so come check it out.

Speaking of Pete Ferk, we are going to have for sale some really cool Character Key stuff.  We have put together an Artist series of Character Keys that Pete worked, where as we have paired up his ORIGINAL drawing for the key with an Artist Proof of the key itself.  Check out an image of what one will look like.

This picture does not do it justice, I saw them and they kick massive booty.  We will have one for every key he worked on (Slave Leia, Tarkin, Sandtrooper, TIE Pilot, Han Solo, Obi Wan, Boba Fett, Indiana Jones).  There is only ONE of these for each character.  They are framed really cool in a 2 inch deep shadow box with each piece on a pedestal.  They will retail between $495 and $595.

We will have a new sketchplate!!!! I know long time in the making, but it will be there and it will make a great companion piece to your McQuarrie R2.

And last bit of cool new product news that I will be releasing today, we will have a new Family Guy Star Wars Lithograph.  The special is still about a year out, but we have received permission to sell this Litho at the show (and only at the show) until the Special airs in about a year.  I have seen the Litho and I will tell you now, it is freakin’ sweet.

Like always we are going to have A TON of new products and new prototypes at the show  (Check out our new The Clone Wars line, it’s going to be cool, as well as our newly created Light Saber REVEALED prototype that we worked on in conjunction with the boys over at EFX), so much stuff that I could write about it all night.  But I won’t.  So you will just have to come to the show and check it all out.

Although I will add in one last thing, we will have an artwork wall with the some of our artists’ originals so you can see how our limiteds measure up to the real thing and for you moneybags out there, they will be for sale.

That is all for me on this lovely Friday afternoon.  If you see me at the Con, please don’t be afraid to say hi.

Your humble Blogger,

James

FYI

This is neither Morly, or your humble blogger James.

This is Louis and Rob, and if you see them at the booth (check nametags) please make fun of them.

And yes one of the helmets is the new EFX Stormtrooper helmet - jealous?

Final post before the con coming at you tomorrow.

OK, so here’s the deal:

The Yoda Character Key, a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, will start to pre-sell THIS Thursday, July 3rd, at 11am PST on CharacterKey.com.  There will be a limit of 1 per customer and this is only for those of you attending SDCC and planning on picking your key up there.  If you are not attending, DO NOT ORDER ON JULY 3RD!  A small number of keys will go on sale on Thursday, July 24th (the start of SDCC) for non-attendees.

Also, we will be debuting our next Character Key, Obi-Wan Kenobi, at Comic-Con.  It will also go up for pre-sale on Thursday, as well.  There will be a limit of 2 per customer on this key.  The sale on Thursday is only if you are planning on picking it up at Comic-Con!  If you want it shipped, you will order later (likely on July 24th again).

Here’s Big Ben:

So something cool…

Our Star Wars Animated Character Key artist (and Indiana Jones Character Key artist, and Boba Fett Master Print artist) Peter Ferk, has won a technical Emmy for his storyboard work on the animated series Growing up Creepie. This is Pete’s first Emmy, though he was previously nominated for work on 101 Dalmations the TV series.

Congratulations Pete!!

And for some Comic Con news, we are actually trying to get Pete to do some demonstrations at our Booth this year.  If all goes to plan, he will be set up with an animators desk doing on the fly sketches and showing the process of how he works out an animated version of the beloved Lucasfilm characters.

I know you all probably think Pete just works in our office and we can get him to do whatever we want, but truth is he is kind of a hard man to pin down- he is always working on some new animated show, or jet setting around the globe with his Emmy around his neck on a phat gold chain. (ok that part isn’t entirely true)

We are also toying with the idea of putting his demonstration drawings up for sale at the Con, I will post more on that later if we decide to move forward with that.

And finally, last little tidbit, we are going to be doing an “Artist Series” of Pete’s character keys at the show.  What we will be doing is framing together the ACTUAL ORIGINAL CENTER POSE DRAWING Pete created for the key with the key itself.

That’s all for now

SDCC Exclusive

So for everyone that checks this blog and has NOT gone to the SDCC webpage to review the exclusive list…. wait are there any of you out there?

Anyway, for those special people let me formally announce that our exclusive for this year will be

{drum roll please}

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS- YODA CHARACTER KEY.

It will be an edition of 750 pieces (  I know I know, but hey, it’s better than 500 for Sidious) and will retail for $35.00

As I am sure you are aware with the release of Roron Corobb, we have officially wrapped up the original Clone Wars line (fyi keep a look out for a very very special announcement about this line in the next couple weeks).  This YODA key marks the beginning of a new line of Character Keys for Acme, and I think you will agree that it should be another fun line to collect.

We wanted to start this line the same way our first character key line began, with Yoda, and as a Convention Exclusive.  The upside this time around is that it’s only 1 per customer.  And hey what’s the fun of collecting, if there aren’t a few that are really hard to get?!

We will be putting this one up for Presale to be be picked up at the Show, this should help alleviate the long lines as well as the annoying Exhibitors who like to pounce on exclusives before the regular crowd gets into the freaking show.  Try as they might, SDCC has still not figured out a 100% fool proof method of stopping this.

We will also be releasing a small amount to non attendees on July 24th, first Full Day of SDCC, so for all of you not going- keep that date in mind.

And my final last little tidbit of news…. We will be debuting another STAR WARS Character Key at the Con.

That’s all for now,

James

Hey Guys,

OK, so here’s the info many of you have been waiting for! The Roron Corrob character key (the final key in the original Clone Wars line) will go up for pre-sale on Monday, June 16th, at noon, PST. Since it has worked so well for us in the past, we will continue to sell the keys at www.CharacterKey.com.

Also, as a show of thanks for their support over the years, we have worked out a deal with Andrew’s Toyz: they will have keys #1 through #100 to sell, so go to them if you want a low number!

Roron Corrob

Good luck!

I am sure that most everyone is aware (at least I hope so) that we also represent HALO in the world of Fine Art and 2D Collectibles.

Last year at SDCC, we debuted this product line and, to be honest, we were pleasantly surprised by how well it was received. I love playing HALO as much as the next video game junkie and when I saw the concept artwork, I felt that this line had the potential to be successful, but it was really great to see everyone respond so favorably so quickly.

This year at Comic Con we are going to be releasing two brand new limited edition prints. I am not going to leak the images quite yet because where is the fun in that? HOWEVER…

As a way to say thank you to all who have supported the HALO line and continue to do so, we are going to be offering a GIVEAWAY!!

For every Halo piece purchased at SDCC, you will be entered into a drawing for a very special framed Halo limited edition on canvas- valued at $495.
